Welcome to Tastelog. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Tastelog (“we,” “us,” “our”) governing your use of the Tastelog app and its services. By using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Tastelog is a private food diary. Most of what you create — your memories, photos, and notes — is private to you by default. Some features let you share content with friends or on public surfaces; those features are what these Terms mostly concern.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use Tastelog. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Tastelog may create an account for you automatically so your diary has a home. You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account. You may attach a sign-in method (Apple, Google, or email) so your diary survives a lost device.
You keep ownership of the content you create — your memories, photos, notes, comments, and anything you pin or tag. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the app for you and, where you choose to share, to show it to the people or surfaces you shared it with. We do not sell your memories.
You are responsible for the content you create and share, and you confirm you have the right to share it.
Tastelog has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You agree not to post, share, tag, upload, or transmit content that is unlawful, harassing, threatening, hateful, defamatory, obscene, sexually explicit, violent, or that infringes or violates another person’s rights — and not to harass, bully, impersonate, or abuse other users.
User-generated content does not reflect our views. We may remove any content and suspend or terminate any account, without notice, for violating these Terms.
We review reports of objectionable content and will act on them — including removing the content and ejecting the offending user — within 24 hours.
If you see content or a user that violates these Terms, use the in-app Report action (available on comments, shared memories, wall polaroids, and user profiles). Reports go to us for review; we respond within 24 hours as described above. Reporting is not a substitute for contacting the authorities where content may involve a crime or imminent harm.
You can block another user at any time. Blocking severs your connection, stops that person from finding, adding, or contacting you, and removes what the two of you shared from each other’s view. You may unblock later, but blocking is your unilateral right and needs no one’s permission.
Some features (such as pinning a polaroid to a restaurant’s wall) publish content to a surface others can see. Content you publish there is subject to the same community rules, may be reported by anyone, and may be removed. Do not publish content you do not have the right to share.
You may stop using Tastelog at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to comply with the law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability) will survive.
Tastelog is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that recommendations or restaurant information will be accurate.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the app.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app. Continuing to use Tastelog after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
